New and Improved...

So, my mom has reeled me into her addiction of "crafty blogging." Today as i was "creeping" some other bloggers, i came across this crafty project that i couldn't pass up by @crafty texas girls. I had a plain lamp on my bedside table that i thought could be spiced up...soooo i stole the idea and went to town...after a little lesson on the sewing machine lol

 I improvised and cut up a couple old pillow cases into 3" strips, instead of buying muslin as the orginal crafter did...and i mastered the ruffles...(sew a seam down the middle of the 3" pieces, then begin scrunching carefully so the thread doesn't break)

FINALLY it was nice out today! Nice enough to go for a run (struggle!!) and take the pup for a walk. Then of course i was feeling productive so i decided to wash and clean out my car. Then the cleaning of the house HAD to be tackled. While feeling oh so productive and in a such task accomplishing mood, i also decided to add some flair to my room. After all, i think i'm all caught up on my DVR'd shows (no more bachelor :( ).
I feel like this is all i do on my days off---catch up on cleaning, shows, and working out. Plus, this week the boyfriend is gone home for spring break (ugh) so i have to fill my time somehow. So at the moment i'm watching "Sister Wives"--what a creepy show?! But of course my eyes are glued! Four women sharing 1 man...bound to be a disaster with lots of drama i would think. Why in the world would any SANE woman want to share their husband?!?! And this is part of a religion?! I'm surprised more men haven't switched over to this religion haha. Speaking of religion...only 2 more days of work then a weekend off...and the boyfriend is getting baptized on Sunday :) Couldn't be more happy and proud of him...i had nothing to do with him becoming a Baptist or making this decision...I SWEAR lol. Anyways, looking forward to that special day for him and his thousand family members and friends being there. Hopefully this weather sticks around!!

What not to wear...EVER

So this weekend was one of the slower times on the unit for the first time in about a month. I mean, we get some odd characters, but goodness people....remember: breeding within your own family is WRONG! So between my past 2 shifts i had the pleasant encounter with possible inbreeders lol...trust me when i say that as i would just love to see pictures of all your cats and listen to how your kids want nothing to do with you, and hear about every color of your cats, i don't quite have that much time to spend listening throughout my day. But, since today i had some more time in my schedule (yipee) i thoroughly enjoyed critiquing (not judging mind you) while the couple was rambling lol. So, of course i have nothing against deaf people, its "hawwd fo me to undustaaand youu wheeeen youuu have swuch a probwem." Secondly, take note: i CANNOT focus when your not real, we adopted each other as mom and daughter or whatever walks in (picture this) in eeyore pj's, glasses so big they cover her face, boobs that hang down to her waist (with no bra)...ohh and surprise she's pregnant too.......it should just never be worn...(although a bra should be). Anyways, that's the decatur's finest encounter of the day. :)

Untold stories of the CVU

There is something just WRONG about having to tell a 350 lb. grown man to pull up his big boy panties and suck it up, only after he's asked me and everyone else no less than 20 times in 15 minutes when he can eat...and swearing that he'll get some food someway, somehow...don't worry...my comment didnt help or offend him lol. Second on the list is overhearing a 70 something year old tell the other person on the end of the phone that she gets to flirt with this cute male nurse because he looks like so-and -so's husband...i mean REALLY people??? I mean that's all i really have for today....that i can remember after my 13 hour shift....ohhhhh myyyy life.

The end to a perfect weekend...

Welp, my days off have come to an end...back to the grindstone tomorrow for more crabby doctors, but hopefully not patients on a lovely monday. Although this weekend included nothing real special it was still nice to watch movies in bed with the pups, ride with the windows down, make a ice cream run, listen to an awesome message at church, and hang out with the man. My little bro wasn't home this weekend due to a baseball trip to alabama...where they've won 4 out of 4 games so far....gave me such an itchin' to watch him play!! Can't wait to sit out there and cheer him on! As for now, i will continue my housesitting stint and keep praying for summer to come faster (although that means only 3 months until im 23!! ahhh...so old lol).

One fine day

Ahh what a crazy week this was!! Work was absolutely nuts...not enough beds for the people needing to be hospitalized....we were moving people in and out faster than they could let people know where they were!!! And trust me a few weren't happy about it!

So I finally get some downtime...I'm housesitting for my parents and watching the pups while they enjoy the hot, bright sun and palm trees in Florida...and some stl cardinals spring training games!! Of course I'm jealous!! But I found some home videos while here last night...needless to say I made the bf watch them with me...I don't think he thinks ive changed much haha. I think I'm starting to get cabin fever...I'm soooo ready for summer, flowers, walks outside, yard work, birds chirping, laying out, and the pool...ohh and can't forget cute sundresses and shorts! Come on mother nature, anytime now! I even bought some cute skirts and spring clothes at forever 21 yesterday...one for only 5 bucks! Come on sun!...come out and play!

So im officially my mother's daughter....i love to shop, like to decorate, freak out when my house is messy...today was one of those days, i steal her clothes, and shoes, and jewelry, i went brunette like her, started a blog like her, we're both about 5-foot nothin, and we both worry more about our "babies" (aka dogs) than the basic necessities lol....hmmm lets face it, i wanna be her hahaha.  This is one of the few Sundays i actually didnt have to work (perks of being a nurse right, blah)...but at least it was SUNNY!! So of course on this rare sunny February day i spent over an hour of my afternoon napping!! ugh i hate when i do that!! So then of course i barely made it to the Haiti missions meeting at church....anyways i suppose i will spend the rest of my night watching the boyfriend study (as usual), watching the bug be his cute self, and listening to him and his mini gruffy barks as he thinks he's a guard dog and stares at the door and barks at nothing. Maybe if we're feelin spontaneous we'll hit up DQ for some yummy fattening, do not need it ice cream.
